The Amity Teen Center provides youth in the Greater New Haven Region with a safe, fun, place where teens can be teens. We
are one of the most unique teen venues around. Through our music live events, our community outreach, teen mentoring
relationships and job readiness preparation opportunities, The ATC seeks to expand the teens means of expression, to
improve their literacy, their life skills, and their attitudes towards learning and life. The ATCs programming allows
teens to feel proud of their creative pursuits by building on the core experience of accomplishment and collaboration. The
ATC fosters a sense of inclusion in a place where the teens belong and where their creative work is the driving force.

The ATC mission statement is to offer programs for teens to stimulate literacy, creativity, enhance self esteem, and develop
social and educational skills. We foster community relationships thru community service projects and multi-cultural programs.
The ATC is an advocate to inspire and motivate teens to realize their full potential. Our work creates a healthy framework
for teens to acquire the skills to become productive, responsible, and caring adults who positively impact and improve the
community.
|
In todays technological environment teens face unprecedented isolation and competition. There are limited opportunities to
have safe, supervised social interaction, develop a sense of self-worth, and develop a commitment to community and empathy
for others in distress. The ATC is unique in offering a flexible program for teens which is a vehicle to teach leadership
skills and foster compassion for others. Our arts, music, gaming and community outreach programs are key components to developing
tomorrows proactive citizens.
